Standish Appoints James Lukens to Oversee Product Management
Brings 20 Years of Experience in Fixed Income Management
to BNY Mellon Asset Management Subsidiary

BOSTON, November 29, 2007 – Standish Mellon Asset Management Company LLC, a fixed income asset management subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon, announced today that James W. Lukens has joined the firm as senior product manager. Lukens will oversee the firm’s product management and marketing communications efforts, managing its product specialists as well as its graphics and proposal-writing teams.  He will report to Alex Over, managing director of sales, marketing and client service at Standish.

Lukens comes to Standish with nearly 20 years of experience in fixed income investment management, communications and client service.  For the last 11 years, he was with Putnam Investments, where he was senior vice president and head of its fixed income institutional portfolio management team. Lukens held a similar product management and communications position with Keystone Investments, and he was previously an officer with the endowments of Brown and Yale universities.  Earlier, he was on the faculty of English department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he taught marketing communications to graduate and undergraduate business students.  Lukens is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Brown University and received his Ph.D. with distinction from Indiana University.  He is a CFA charter holder and a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.
